More about my family
I married my Best Friend, Brad, in 2010. We live in Ashville on Neely Henry Lake. The picture at the top of this website is from our back porch at sundown! My daughter Kaitlyn was born in 2015! We also consider our many pets our children. We did not buy any of our pets, every one of them adopted us. We have a dog, Buddy, a terrier mix. We have five cats: Sissy, Oliver, Samantha, Tabitha, and Tiger Lily. Samantha and her daughters adopted us shortly after we moved in, and Brad found Oliver in a rainstorm as a tiny helpless kitten.

So Why Teach?
All of my life I have enjoyed working with children.I started out early babysitting and helping at church. In college I was a camp counselor, volunteered to help tutor 3rd graders, and worked in a lab researching childhood aggressiveness. After graduation, I have worked as a senior child care worker with adolescents in residential care, as a behavioral specialist teaching life skills, and with adults with developmental disabilities as a life coach, supporting their efforts to live independently and assisting them to learn strategies to achieve their goals.
My passion is working with people, and I love the challenge of helping them to learn and retain new information.Teaching comes naturally to me, and I hope I am able to help teach and provide experiences for children to become passionate lifelong learners (both in and out of the classroom).

What is your favorite color?
My favorite color is BLUE!
What is your favorite book? Why?
I read Clementine by Sara Pennypacker and LOVED it! "In this first book of the series, Clementine tries to help out her friend Margaret, but ends up in a lot of trouble for it. Things get worse each day of the week, until finally she's worried that Margaret is right: Clementine's parents might consider her "the hard one" in the family. They're up to
something mysterious; are they thinking they'd be better off if they only had her little vegetable-named brother, "the easy one?"" (Click on the blue Clementine link above to watch the author read some of her hilarious book!) I also like A Dog Called Kitty! It is a good story about a little country dog! There are some very funny parts in the book!
Well, what about poetry?
I also really like poetry. You have to read Shel Silverstein's poetry! One of my Favorites is Ickle Me Pickle Me Tickle Me Too. I also really love Dr. Suess !
What is your favorite sport? I like gymnastics, and swimming! My favorite football team is The Alabama Crimson Tide! I think watching car racing can be fun! I would be very scared at first, but I would like to drive one of those cars one day!
